I work at the Ottawa Food Bank as Officer, Communications and Advocacy.

What was your inspiration to get involved in food banking?

My inspiration to get involved in food banking stems from my deep connection to community engagement, storytelling, and a passion for DIY culture. I felt a compelling desire to be part of a team that actively seeks collaborative change. To me, the Ottawa Food Bank embodies these principles, particularly in its rich commitment to community engagement. Every day, I am profoundly inspired by the opportunity to work alongside such an incredible network, all dedicated to making a positive impact through food banking.

What is your greatest achievement in your current role?

My top accomplishment in my current role is creating strong, trusting relationships that have led to new partnerships, helping us work towards our organization’s mission.

What is your greatest challenge in your current role?

There are not enough hours in a day!

If you could have one wish granted that would address hunger in Canada what would it be?

Adequate. Income. For. All.

Which talent would you most like to have?

I’d love to be able to play an instrument well! What a skill!

If you could tell your younger self advice, what would it be?

Embrace change and don’t get too caught up in the future. Normal doesn’t exist.

Who are your heroes? Fictional or real life

I’m lucky – I work with some of them!

When mind, heart and body are at peace.

I’m often heard cheering, “let’s goo!”

Your theme song?

“Mystery” by Turnstile really speaks to me. Whenever it plays, I can’t help but feel like it’s all about the beauty of exploring the unknown, finding serenity in it, and embracing the limitless magic that comes from being open to others’ perspectives. A 2 minute banger in celebration of the universe’s endless mysteries!
