What was your inspiration to get involved in food banking?
I have worked in the non-for-profit sector most of my career. Getting involved with food banking allows me to continue my career working with the vulnerable population and to put my knowledge, passion and experience forth to help advocate for systematic change.
What is your greatest achievement in your current role?
My greatest achievement in my role so far is working along side our volunteers to transitioning to operating under COVID restrictions to offer uninterrupted service to our community.
What is your greatest challenge in your current role?
My greatest challenge has been navigating through the pandemic, which started the same week I was hired. Learning a new role and navigating through a pandemic has been a huge learning curve for me.
If you could have one wish granted that would address hunger in Canada what would it be?
My one wish would be that everyone has access to healthy, quality food without having to regularly access food banks.
Which talent would you most like to have?
I would like to be multilingual then travel the world.
If you could tell your younger self advice, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self that at times life can be tough and the world around you can seem unfair. Embrace these moments, because good or bad, the is always something to learn. Your life experiences are all a part of your journey and make you uniquely YOU. Keep moving forward because you are going places!
What is your idea of happiness?
My idea of happiness is when my heart, mind and soul are at peace.

Something quirky about you that others may not expect or know?
Hummm that’s a tough one….. I don’t like my hot foods to touch my cold foods. LOL
